Lessons learned in Bali

LANGUAGES AND CULTURES

I wasn't sure of how other feel, but I found much similarities between Indonesian / Balinese languages with Malay language.

Says:

Malaysian Language : Indonesian / Balinese Language

Tarik -vs- Dorongan
Teksi -vs- Taksi
'chili sos' (in KFC) -vs- 'Sambal' (in KFC) *wonder why??*

Perhaps that's merely my opinion. Perhaps it's just my prejudism, but I hope someday I figure out how such langueges function and stuff....

Trip to Bali was nice. No doubt bout it.....

Last day at Bali

Trip to Kuta Beach, Kuta Square, Sukawati

sunny

It was so unbeliable that this was my last day at Bali. As according to plan, the last day was for usto go shopping around Bali coz we expected to reached Bali Internaitonal Airport by about 12pm at noon...

While shopping around the street at Sukawati, my friend received a sms informed us that flight will delay from bt 1pm to 4pm, therefore we have more time than expected. We decided to visit the hot spring but the distance to go back to airport become another issue for us. Therefore, we decided to hangout at Kuta beach and kuta square.

I don't think that I feel regretful coz every trip we went about are merely a journey. For me even though I missed the chance visiting hot spring stuff, I feel pleased because I had the chance of observing the activities around 'Sukawati'. It's more about cultures and humanities things for me....

Ultimately, we went back to Kuta beach. While my friend went shopping, I was enjoying the beautiful sceneries of the beach. We had our specious lunch at KFC. After that, we went to the airport.

... Surprisingly I bought 2 CD back home. The famous band - NIGJI and LETTO.....

3rd Day at Bali

Trip to Tanah Lot, Gigit waterfall, Pura Ulu Danau Bratan...

rain

Just like yesterday, we prepared to start our brand new journey to other places after breakfast. The driver came earlier than yesterday, surprisingly it wasnt the appointed driver, but he's great too.
He brought us to various places including:-
- Tanah Lot
- Gigit waterfall
- Jinbaran Sunset dinner ....

It wasn't a great day too. There were rains and chills, but it didn't stop our desire for further explorations, and I expected we might get wet.. It's a rare chance for adventure!!!

Tanah Lot is really a great place. The great experience in tanah lot is far more greater that I can't use anywords to describe it.... Shops around there had yet opened when we get there.

Right after the trip we went for the waterfall, another journey, another paradise.... We sat in the car for a couple of hour to reach there. Gladly said, the rain stopped after we reached the waterfall. We went not so further in the waterfall, due to time constraint and our budget issues. I felt like wanting to buy something from the so-called 'shopped' along the waterfall routes, but ! dare not.

We wandering around, watching the poors selling stuffs in the market. It's amazing as it remind me of my 'Dhaka tour' . By then I realised the similarities amongst the poors or 3rd world country. The ladies or some guys love to use their head as tool to carry heavy stuff.... ( I wondered if this technique similar to Judo, says using lest effort to carry the heavy stuff tactics ...).

Instead of having a great buffet lunch recommended by the driver, I went to a relatively localized restaurant neaby the street for lunch. It was not bad though. As for me it's a blessed that we are able to eat... My friend bought some kacang putih & Jagung back to hostel. I wasnt suprised coz the jagung was nice....

After a rest, we went for our Jimbaran Sunset Dinner . It was recommended by friends as well. The best things of all, it's the nature that we enjoyed.. but undeniably the food was great too!!

We went for a walk around Kuta beach. We walked and shopped back home.... It's wasnt late. It's exciting!!

2nd Day at Bali

Trip to Gunung Badur, Bukit Jampul, Monkey forest

rain

We woke up early in the morning around 6.30 am in ther morning and prepare for breakfast at 7am. After we settled everything, we just wait for our tour guide - the Taksi driver to the places we wanted to go.
These include visiting to:
- Gunung Batur (the active valcano)
- Bukit Jambul (the rice terrace)
- Monkey forest

While travelling up to the hill, the weather was not so nice. It was raining and chilling. By the time we saw the gunung after a long journey, we were so excited to take photos. I was disturbed by the residents as they were tried hard to pursuade me to buy their goods. I feel sorry for them, but it's just a matter of survival, by the time we buy something from them, they might take such opportunity to sell things in extremely high price....

The rainny days had spoilt our travelling mood, but luckily the rain didnt last long....

As recommended by friends, we there is a nice restaurant named 'Bebek Bengkil (??!)/ Dirty duck' around Ubud area. Not only the dishes (especially duck) are nice, but the environment are great too! We and our taksi driver had our lunch togather in the restaurant, which have a "garden-like" feeling over there....Whoever went there should try it!!

We went to the monkey forest after our lunch. My friends insisted to try the Babi Guling after a tour in the monkey forest. After a terrible experience in Ulu Watu, I finally decided to take away my specticles for the trip. Though i didnt see much around that area, but luckily the monkeys here is tamer than the other...

As mentioned, we went for the Babi guling meal. Sad to say I didn't know how it taste like because I dont eat pork....

It took a couple of hours to get back home. We decided and asked the driver to drop us at Kuta Beach, and we walked back to our hostel...

We had our very light dinner in a relatively cheap restaurant. After that, we went hang out around the street and shopped for a little while.....

1st day at Bali

Trip to Ulu watu

sunny

I had an unforgetable experience for my first day trip to Ulu Watu temple. Though before the entrance they had already warned us about the monkeys that they will grap whatever we hold.
As for my case, they took away my specticle. As I had a very poor vision, I didn't really enjoyed that much coz I can't see things clearly. It was fun to just figure how things go about. The nature was nice, cool and calm...

Reallizing that Ulu watu is famous for it's surfing activities around the beach and Kecak dance in the temples, I was a bit regret that we missed it all. The time is just nice for us to visit around, and by the time we finished, we went back to take a rest...

We had our dinner at Poppies II street in a convinient shop. I ate a veggie sandwich. Then we tried their beer - Bintang as I notice lots of tourist are wearing it's clothes and drinking it's beer.

The experience were wild and great!!
